It has been quite the summer for all of us at New Life Hiking Spa! We only have eight weeks left to go and are now preparing for fall foliage. Today, we are looking back on our 2016 season thus far with a ton of gratitude and looking into what sets New Life apart from other wellness vacations.
Being thankful is always a great place to start.
We are thankful for our staff & guests:
One of the best things about New Life Hiking Spa (other than the hiking) is the people. In addition to the amazing staff, we have had the most wonderful guests come through our doors. So far, we have had 684 guests who have come from Canada, England, 39 different states in the U.S., Washington, D.C. and the Bahamas. What a delightful group of people we have had the pleasure of meeting this year!
We are thankful for our accolades:
Last month, we were chosen as the #1 Destination Spa in America by Travel + Leisure Magazine. This month, we were chosen to be on the “10Best” List by USA Today in the Ten Best Health & Wellness Resorts in the country.
Wellness Tourism is on the rise throughout the world and we are humbled to have been one of only three spas to make both publications!
We are thankful for the Green Mountain State:
There is no place like Vermont. The mountains, the countryside, the farms and farm stands with their fresh fruits and vegetables, the fresh air, the wildflowers and babbling brooks that line the streets…what a glorious place!
We open in mid-May with tiny buds just opening on the trees. A few weeks later, we smell and see the gorgeous lilacs and apple blossoms that make way to summer in the Green Mountains. Mid-August always brings just a few of the lush, green trees to start to show hints of fall foliage. Each day brings the excitement of the upcoming autumn season with subtle changes to the maples, oaks and other deciduous trees. From now until we close for the season, we get to witness the beautiful site of the mountains bursting into colors of red, orange, yellows and even some dark purples.
What sets New Life Hiking Spa apart from any other destination spa and wellness vacation?
All of the above…and our price.
We took a look at the other spas that are on list and compared a vacation during the dates of September 26 – October 2. Most destination spas, like us, are all-inclusive. So to make sure we were comparing apples to apples, we made sure all the places we called included a private room with a private bath, three meals a day, hiking (or whatever fitness programming the spa specializes in), cooking demos, lectures, etc. Some include a massage, others charge in addition to the nightly rate. We include one massage for each three night stay. So for purposes of this illustration, a stay from September 26 – October 2 (six nights) with New Life Hiking Spa would include 2 massages.
The destination spas and wellness retreats that were on the “affordable tier” ranged from $2,300 – $3,000 for a 6 night getaway. The ones on the “luxury tier” were $6,000 – $10,000 for 6 nights. The price at New Life Hiking Spa for those nights? About $1,700. No, we are not luxury. And as Travel + Leisure clarified, you won’t get “Frette sheets”, you will get a renovated, comfortable room in a Vermont inn.
It’s about getting back to nature…enjoying the outdoors and eating natural, freshly prepared food. New Life Hiking Spa is an authentic, affordable, active vacation you won’t find anywhere else.
We hope you will join us! Interested in coming the week we used as the example (September 26 – October 2)? Hurry, as of August 8th, there are only 6 rooms left!
